Community Wellness Navigators

  • The Community Navigator Program has adapted evidence-based interventions such as the Community Health Worker model and the Social Supports Theory to address individual-level and community-level socioecological determinants of health.

Immigrant and refugee communities deal with issues such as poor housing, food insecurity, lack of opportunity, discrimination, homesickness, navigating multiple cultures, and community violence.

The ETSS Navigators assist clients by utilizing a “task‐shifting” model, i.e., the transfer of response from formal health providers to lay workers to undertake specific mental health interventions.

Informal channels play an important role in the mental wellness of populations by problem recognition, addressing barriers and stigma, and treatment initiation.

  • Refugees and Immigrants facing challenges and barriers who need assistance to successfully navigate the services they need

  • Monday through Friday 9 am – 5 pm

  • 4300 E Broad St., Suite D, Columbus, OH 43213
